It was ether.

Ether started the window at $4,453 on 22 September last year and closed at $2,767 yesterday, a fall of 38%. The low was $1,560 on 28 June, and it’s up 77% since.
Why that chart was hard
Bitcoin’s twelve months have almost the same shape. Both peaked on 7 October last year, both bottomed in the last days of June, and both have climbed since. Bitcoin fell 25% across the window against ether’s 38%, but with the numbers stripped off the two lines are close to interchangeable.
That’s the useful part. A price chart with no scale on it tells you the direction and very little else, and direction is the thing almost every coin had in common this year. Worth remembering the next time you’re shown one.
Another one next Wednesday.
